Their diversified portfolio of business is supported by a strong base of clientele in the food industry and medical industries. We are seeking a Strategic Planner to lead the process of defining the digital strategy for brands. This person should be an expert in consumer understanding, digital brand building and research methodologies. Importantly the role leads a team of analysts and strategists to determine the part interactive technologies play within an integrated marketing campaign.

 

Location
Chicago or Western Michigan.

 

Reporting Structure
The Strategic Planner reports to the Senior Vice President of Special Operations, a member of the Executive Committee

 

Opportunity Responsibilities
• Understanding our clients’ customers/consumers/users and serves as their advocate
• Collaborating with all external agency partners and advocating the strategic role of digital solutions within an integrated marketing mix
• Conducting qualitative research with users to assess needs and develop personas, and with client stakeholders to determine marketing and communication objectives
• Leading a team of analysts and strategists to accomplish objectives
• Encourages and facilitates a collaborative work style within the strategic planning group
• Performing competitive and contextual landscape analysis
• Developing strategy briefs that provide creative teams with a concise but thorough launching pad for inspired creative product
• Documenting and presenting strategy and contact recommendations in a manner that furthers our reputation for superior digital solutions
• Identifying, tracking, analyzing and reporting meaningful metrics of success to provide framework for continuous improvement and strategic development
• Building strong client and partner relationships at multiple levels to deepen understanding of interactive marketing and to develop new business opportunity

 
Critical Attributes and Qualifications
• Minimum of three years’ experience in digital strategy development
• Understanding of and experience with website, online media, social media, mobile media strategy and development
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies for pre-campaign, in-market and post-fight testing
• Excellent presenter and listener with ability to think quickly and deliver consultative response
• Working knowledge of media and communications planning; direct and relationship marketing; and integrated marketing
• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in professional experience and education
